I'm taking Margie Lawson's Empowering Characters' Emotions class, which runs the month of March. This class is fantastic! The techniques I'm learning are going to take my manuscript to a level I didn't imagine I could achieve on my own. Margie teaches techniques for analyzing the manuscript and giving it more emotional impact in the right places, using body language, visceral responses, and dialog, and other "deep editing" techniques. The class materials are fun to read--clear, with lots of helpful examples.
I'm finding the Yahoo Groups format for the class a little unwieldy--there are just WAY too many posts to wade through, and and the message stream is a big, disorganized mish-mash--so I plan on ordering the class materials from some of her other courses and doing them on my own.
