10-Second Review:
Unlike some self-pubbed indie novels I've picked up lately, Descended by Blood was a well-crafted story that kept me reading. The mythology around the vampires in this world gives the book a unique twist, not an easy feat considering the slew of YA vampire books out there. The main character, Brooke, is likeable and real. Mysterious Mirko is the steamiest male YA character I've read since Twilight. Descended by Blood was an action-packed, fast-paced read, and I can't wait to get the next book in the Vampire Born Trilogy, Enemy Within.
